Let Go
In November of 2006 I teamed up with Scott Daly to produce his song "Let Go." We had some incredibly fun recording sessions, and even managed to finish the track during a power outage with a laptop and firewire interface. Little did we know the song would become the single from his new album Everything is Gonna to Be Okay on Modern Sky Records.

While Scott was in China recording the album they also made a video for "Let Go":

Once Scott returned, I had the pleasure of playing bass in the band for a few months. Here is a video of one of our performances at Luna Lounge in Brooklyn, February 10th, 2007:

I met Othoniel Joseph at a songwriter's workshop in Danbury, CT in 2003. He and I hit it off immediately and proceeded to collaborate on the various tracks we had in progress. We recorded off and on over the next year at a friend's studio and developed our synth-pop tinged sound. The result of that work, an album tentatively entitled Phoenix, shows great promise. I hope one day we will pick it back up and see it through to completion.

Eli Lefferts
Written with my bother Eli in 1999, Young at Heart was the product of a single magical recording session on a four track tape deck in my college room. These purely instrumental songs evoke the gentle sides of two typically volatile personalities.

Eli and I recorded this song in 2003 for our grandmother after our grandfather, John B. Doriss, passed away. He was a classical music lover and this was one of the pieces he frequented in his collection. He is missed.

Eli and I lived together for a brief time in Santa Barbara, CA. This song was recorded one night as Eli tested his latest work against my latest beat. I am always impressed by Eli's guitar work.

My cousin Sean is an incredibly talented musician. His singing voice is unparalleled in the family. We did a round of demos at my home studio in 2003 and this song was my favorite of the bunch. After the project left my hands I couldn't leave it alone, and ultimately came up with this remix.

The Psyclones, comprised of my father Seth Lefferts and his parter Doug Emery, have recorded some brilliant music. Over the years my dad has played on many of my tracks, so I offered to contribute to one of his. Surprisingly, they liked my version so much they ended up using it on their album.

In 2005 I was visiting Marsh in Hawaii to help him get the most out of his studio. While there I fell in love with swimming in the warm clear Hawaiian water. The atmosphere of the place permeated all that we did. One session I took a pass at remixing one of Marsh's guitar riffs to show him how easy it was to morph sounds with programs like Ableton Live. The results perfectly capture the feel of that aquatic week in paradise.

NIN
Trent Reznor has defined my taste in music for years. I bought everything of his I could get my hands on, and analyzed every sound he produced. Once he put up remix components for a few of his songs in 2005 I lit up with excitement. I went after this song because I feel like the album version could have used some old school NIN treatment. I loved being able to tear apart his material to see how he puts it all together.
